New Exciting Volunteer Opportunities

The Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team is on the lookout for new team members – both support team and operational members.

With the recent flooding and missing person searches, the need for the team’s services outside of the moorland and mountain environment has once again been highlighted.

Do you have the skills that can help the local community?

Details of the skills and time required can be found at:

Lee Quarry Team

Team member Lizzy Toft explains what being part of the team entails.

“Being operational isn’t just about the call outs. More time is spent on fundraising and training by members than being out on call, but that time is well spent as team members save lives every year.

“If you think that you may be interested but not too sure or you would rather just help out around our bases or fundraising, why not join our support team and see if the team is for you?

“Should you have any questions, please contact:

“It costs approximately £30,000 per year to run the team before the major expenditure of new ambulances, base renovations and the like are considered. The public support of our life saving search and rescue service is extremely valuable to us and we thank the public for their ongoing support – remember, as this shows, we do so much more than just mountains.”img_1030
