Time: 18:43hrs – 23:55hrs.
Location: Foulridge, Colne.
Request from: Lancashire Police.
Details: Team contacted requesting assistance with a 79-year-old male who was suffering from dementia and had left his home address, which was near to Red Lane in Colne. Due to the vulnerability and the age of the male, our full team were immediately deployed to the area, along with assets from Cheshire and Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
This soon turned into a large scale search, with multi-agency resources being pulled in from all over the county.
As the searches continued, Mountain Rescue team members were searching a field just off Red Lane. As they began their search of the area in question, team members then came across the 79-year-old sat near to a wall – in a very dark location.
Team members began to treat the casualty, who thankfully was uninjured, cold and very wet.
Our team were stood-down just prior to midnight.
