Adventure Challenge

After a very successful 1st year and excellent feedback we are holding our second annual Adventure Challenge on the 21st April 2012.

Bike through the excellent Gisburn Forest!

All the money raised from this event will go to Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team.  The team costs in excess of £25.000 per year simply to operate, with every penny having to be raised directly by team members.  We are all volunteers so the money raised is of great importance to us to maintain our operational capabilities and assist our local community.

How many milk crates can you climb before you topple? More mystery challenges will be in 2012's event.

The RPMRT Adventure Challenge event is set around the beautiful Gisburn Forest in the Trough of Bowland.  It’s a good challenge for beginners as well as experienced Adventurers.  Controls are located on paths and tracks of mixed terrain and self-navigational around your chosen route.  The emphasis is having a fun day out set at your own pace.

The idea of the Adventure Challenge event is to visit as many point controls as you can by bike and on foot within a 5 hour time limit.  There are five categories: male and female solo; male, female and mixed pairs. You navigate to each control location and each control has a value. There will also be a number of mystery challenges from which you will also gain points.
You can make the event as hard or as easy as you like as there are no fixed routes.

Come along to support the team and have a great day out into the bargain!
