Ambulance Assist

40: Team was paged by NWAS (Lancs) to assist with the evacuation of a casualty from Calf Hey reservoir.
Paramedics had attended the reservoir to treat a male child who had sustained head injuries during a sledging incident. They had accessed the casualty on the far side of the reservoir from the car park, treated and begun the evacuation on a board.
Team members met the ambulance crew at the reservoir and subsequently placed the casualty across the rear seats of a team vehicle for short transfer to the NWAS ambulance. Team members then assisted the ambulance in getting out of the car park, which was covered in snow and ice from falls earlier in the week.
