58: A climber was reported fallen whilst ice climbing at Cliviger.
The climber had been attempting the ice route in Cliviger but had fallen, sustaining a suspected fractured humerus.
Team members attended, and lowered the climber to a position where he could be put onto a Bell stretcher. Morphine was administered.
He was then sledged to a nearby farmhouse for transfer to our team vehicle and onward transport to Blackburn Hospital. An RAF Sea King helicopter was requested and en route, but was unable to cross the Pennines due to the low cloud base in Yorkshire. Team members stood down at 18.30hrs.
