73: An eighteen year old male mountain biker had fallen from his bike at Horncliffe quarries, Bury Road, Rawtenstall sustaining a suspected broken tib and fib.
The NWAS crew had treated the casualty but were unable to carry him to the ambulance waiting by the nearby road.
Team members assembled a Bell stretcher and sledged the patient from the quarry, 500 feet through a steep wooded area to the road. Stood down at 18.00hrs.
