34: We were asked to assist in the search for a 42 year old vulnerable male, missing from his home in Burnley for two weeks.
Reported missing by his father on 3 October, the gentleman is a non-compliant epileptic whose condition, if un-medicated, can lead to death. On the day before his disappearance, he had suffered at least two fits and was taken to Blackburn Royal Hospital. He left at 18.00hrs, prior to any treatment, and was seen on CCTV in Blackburn town centre. The team was tasked to search the canal corridor from Whitebirk to Rosegrove for any signs of the man and to locate any possible CCTV cameras. This was achieved by using foot and water-borne searchers, but nothing was found.
