It is with mixed thoughts that the team receive a donation of £630 from the family of the late Steve Carlisle to mark the fifth anniversary of his untimely death. The event was held at the Burnley League Club with all proceeds going to the team.

Two members of the team – team leader Andy Simpson and team secretary Judy Whiteside – were flying the mountain rescue flag (metaphorically!) at a Buckingham Palace Garden Party in July, representing Mountain Rescue (England & Wales).

The Megahike event at the end of June, for which we provided standby rescue cover, was a lesson to us – and probably all teams – in the organisation of a challenge event, which also appears to successfully make a great deal of money.

The cheque for £3240 was the result of Rossendale Raynet disbanding and selling their assets, and will be used for the servicing, replacement or enhancement of our current communications facilities.
