Team raises another £600.50 thanks to Tesco, Haslingden!

Team members spent another day at Tesco Haslingden on Saturday 17 October, to continue raising awareness of our role in the community.

Once again Managers at the Tesco store had kindly allowed the team to set up a display stand inside the store, with room for a team vehicle at the front entrance.

Team members, accompanied by trainee search dogs, spent the day chatting to members of the public about the valuable community service we provide. The aim was to help raise public awareness of the work mountain rescue teams undertake, not only helping the injured and unwell in the hills and moorland, but also assisting the police in searching for missing persons, and the ambulance service in cases of remote or difficult access.

A total of £600.50 was raised on the day, through collection boxes and the sale of promotional merchandise. This is in addition to the £438.19 raised in April, bringing in over £1,000 which goes a long way towards our annual needs of over £20,000.

Many thanks to Tesco – and especially Colette – for their support on the day, together with a big thanks to everyone who stopped to chat to us and drop money in our collection boxes.
