Team on hand for Singletrack Classic Weekender event
The first weekend in July saw mountain bikers from around the country descend on Rossendale's Lee Quarry and Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team were on hand to assist in the event of any injuries.
The quarry has been developed through the Adrenaline Gateway programme and is gaining a reputation as one of the most innovative and accessible Mountain Bike Trail Centres in England – resulting in a number of callouts for the team!
The Singletrack Classic Weekender is an event to find the best all round mountain biker, and also enables riders to work out where they stand in a test of skills, speed and endurance. There were three events – on Saturday the Classic Downhill and Speed Trials, with the Classic XC on the Sunday.
Thankfully, we only had minor injuries to deal with and the riders had a great weekend in Rossendale. Team members also had a great time watching the racing and mixing with the competitors, in a sport that continues to gain popularity in our area.
