EVENT NOW FULL!!!
Hello there runners!
First of all, we would like to say a massive thank you for your support and for registering to run in our first very own night race! We look forward to seeing you all sporting your head torches on the night!
The race will start from Barley car park at 1900hrs sharp. Registration and kit checks will be done from Barley Village Hall from 1800hrs. Please allow plenty of time to have your personal kit checked and to register. If you do not complete both, you won’t be able to run!
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE RACE IS PRE-ENTRY ONLY. ENTRY ON THE NIGHT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.
Kit should include as a minimum:- head torch with spare batteries, map (we will provide route maps on the night), compass, hat, waterproof layer, food and drink (a bottle of water and a few mars bars should be plenty!)
The route will be well marked out with glow sticks so navigation shouldn’t be an issue, however compass and map are required as a ‘just in case’.
Once you’ve had your kit checked, you will receive a stamp. Show your stamp at the registration to receive a registration form. Once you have filled it in, return it and you will be given your race number and map.
As a final head count before you’re off, we will count you through a funnel into the start line, so please be aware and make sure you go through the funnel to the start.
Once the claxon goes, follow the glow sticks up the Pendle Way to the top of Pendle Hill, across to the trig point and back down Ogden Clough Valley to the finish in Barley.
Look after one another and watch out for the witches!
There will be stewards at key points around the route, as well as a couple of sweepers and three rescue teams on standby if required.
At the finish line, please have your number clearly on show to make recording your time as efficient as possible. You will be funnelled across the line to aid us checking you off.
We will endeavour to display your finishing time and position in the Village hall as quickly as possible! There will be warm drinks and biscuits available for while you wait.
There are plenty of prizes to be had so please hang around to see what you may have won!
Finally we would like to say a huge thank you for your participation and we hope to see you again next year!
Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team.
