At approximately 11:30 today (21/10/20) the team were called by Lancashire Police to a 67 y/o lady who’d been pulled and slipped down a steep embankment in woodland near Helmshore as the terrain required our particular skills.

On arrival team members began to triage the lady, it was apparent she was suffering no other issues other than a seriously potential fracture dislocation of her ankle.

After being administered morphine supported with Entonox (gas and air) and observations complete, we proceeded to stretcher carry the lady to the road head to the ambulance.
We wish the lady a speedy recovery and it goes to show the simplest of walks can sometimes become a serious event, especially as the weather is now drawing in.
