CALL OUT 12 – Call to assist Lancashire Police

CALL OUT 12

Yesterday evening shortly after 18:00 (12/1/21) saw the 12th call out for team members this year. A request was made by Lancashire Police for assistance with an incident that was ongoing near Sabden. Officers were concerned for the welfare of a casualty with the temperature dropping and significant risk of hypothermia along with potential issues of access for an ambulance due to the poor road conditions.

Team members and vehicles made their way to the location and assisted with the casualty, providing additional warmth and medical care. A short time later the North West Ambulance Service crew arrived and also made their way to the casualties location on foot; followed by a gritter that was then able to provide safe access for the ambulance to get to the scene. The casualty was placed onto the ambulance safely and the team were stood down and returned to base, cleaned down and decontaminated the vehicles and equipment.
