CALLOUT 16 – Call the assist NWAS with medical emergency

This morning around 6:50 am our team of volunteers received an early wake-up call with an urgent callout to assist the @North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS)

There was an ambulance crew, responding to where a male was having a medical episode. The crew, due to the terrain, were struggling with access to the property above Crawshawbooth, and the Air Ambulance was unable to attend due to the weather.

While some team members went to our base and got one of our frontline response vehicles. Others made their way directly to the location. Upon arrival. Members of our team assisted the NWAS crews, who had managed to get up the track, before assisting with a short carry out to the ambulance.

We have no further updates at this time and our thoughts and wishes are with the gentleman’s family at this time.

The Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team is a full volunteer organisation that responds to those in need in our local community. The team is on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and relies entirely on donations from members of the public to carry out this essential life-saving rescue service.
